Hotel Reservation instructions:

You can book your room online at the following website: http://www.cpaustinhotel.com/. Once you open the hotel's HOME page at the top left corner click on the tab called RESERVATIONS. Use the form to request your dates, smoking preference, etc and then at the bottom of the form where it says "SPECIAL ACCOUNTS - GROUP CODE" fill in the following code: WAV - This will give you your room. The rate will be $119.00 (plus tax) per night. If you have trouble using the online systems you may also use 1-800-684-7241 or 1-877-782-9444 and let them know you are with the WMVC or WAVC 2007 IEEE Workshops.

NOTE: Reservations must be received by: January 30, 2007. After this date, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis only. Rooms must be guaranteed at the time of reservation with a major credit card or first night's payment. Cancellations must be made seventy-two (72) hours prior to arrival in order to avoid charge for the first night (Group Policy). Reservations can only be canceled by calling the hotel directly and obtaining a cancellation number.

Directions To The Capitol Place Hotel Austin…

From Austin-Bergstrom International Airport: Exit the airport from Presidential Boulevard. Turn left onto Highway 71 (West). Travel West to IH-35 and exit North onto I-35. Travel north and take Exit 234C (6th-12th Streets). Turn left at the first light (6th Street). Turn left at light onto the access road. Turn right into the hotel entrance before next intersection.

Transportation to and from the airport and the Capitol Place Hotel/Hilton Garden Inn is available on SuperShuttle for just $10.00 per person one way or $18.00 roundtrip. Follow signs from baggage claim to the SuperShuttle ticket counter and purchase your ticket; no reservation is needed. Schedule your return shuttle reservation at the ticket counter or by calling 512-929-3900 x 3; 24-hour advance notice is recommended. You can pay with cash or any major credit card and service is available 24-hours a day.

Additional Hotel Information

As far as hotels go, there are no other hotels in the downtown Austin area that have rates lower than the group rate we have at the Capital Place Hotel. Hotels in the downtown area are generally pricier than in other area and the rate we have of $119 is very good. Below we include an option of 3 motels. These are cheaper but are not of the best quality and are not very close to the workshop/hotel. There is a need for additional transportation to get to and from the workshop/hotel to these hotels.
